Volvo Ocean Race

The Geotracerkitchen built a display for the Volvo Ocean Race Newport Stopover! More than 125,000 people visited the VOR Newport Stopover. Considering Newport is a town of only 24,000 full time residents it was a great event!

Alex Egan and Andrew Dubay put together a great display on the ocean carbon and oxygen cycle.  We measured oxygen in the water and CO2 in the air and in peoples’ breath.

We illustrated the overturning circulation of the ocean using green fluorescent beads for flow visualization.
